New Illinois Requirement for Gloves in Food Establishments
Latex Glove Ban Effective January 1, 2023
Beginning January 1, 2023, food establishments may not permit employees to use latex gloves in food preparation or handling.
If nonlatex gloves are not available due to a supply crisis, latex gloves may be used. If latex gloves are used, a sign should be prominently displayed at the point of order or point of purchase notifying the public of the temporary change.
