Life Safety & Construction

The Illinois Department of Public Health, Office of Health Care Regulation, Division of Life Safety and Construction, conducts licensure and certification surveys for licensed healthcare facilities. The Division is made up of two sections, the Design and Construction Section and the Field Services Section.

The Design and Construction Section is responsible for plan reviews for licensed health care facilities and the CMS certification surveys for non-long term care facilities. The Field Services Section is responsible for the CMS annual certification surveys for long term care facilities.
