Current Patients

Is the new system mobile-compatible?

Yes, the new portal is compatible with iPhone, iPad, tablets, and Android devices.

Is my Username and Password the same, or will it change in the new system?

Your login credentials will change. The new system will leverage the State iLogin platform for access to the system. See the instructions linked here to set up your account.

Why do I have to register in ILogin to get into this new system?

The new state of Illinois sign-in site allows you to securely access state services using a single ILogin account. This means you can sign in to one account to access the state programs you use.

Is my ID (QP) number the same or will it change in the new system?

Your patient identifying QP number will remain the same.

What happens to applications in progress when the new system launches?

Applications in progress will be migrated to the new system. If your medical cannabis registration is set to expire or if you have corrections due between April 15, 2025, and May 29, 2025, you will automatically be granted an extension until May 30, 2025.

Extensions

Do I need to resubmit documents for an extension?

The requirements for extensions will remain the same. If you submitted documents for an extension, they would transfer to the new system.

Will I continue to receive a reminder notification when an extension is needed?

Yes. Reminder emails will be sent starting 60 days prior to your expiration date. The email from “‘no-reply.dph.medicalcannabis@illinois.gov” reminds you to extend your registry card. If you cannot locate your email, check your spam and “all mail” folders.

Renewals

What is the renewal process in this system?

The requirements for renewals will remain the same. If you submitted documents for renewal, they will be transferred to the new system.

When will I receive a reminder notification?

Yes. Reminder emails will be sent starting 90 days prior to your expiration date. The email from “‘no-reply.dph.medicalcannabis@illinois.gov” reminds you to renew your registry card. If you cannot locate your email, check your spam and “all mail” folders.

Caregivers

Do I still use the patient’s account to log in to see my information?

No, the new system will provide caregivers with their own accounts. See the instructions linked here to set up your account.

Will my Caregiver (CG) ID remain the same in the new system?

Yes, your CG ID will remain the same in the new system.

Healthcare Providers

Is my Username and Password the same, or will they change in the new system?

Your login credentials will change. The new system will leverage the State iLogin platform for access to the system. Current health care providers will be sent an OKTA activation email.

Do we certify our patients online?

Yes, there is an online portal to certify. The requirements to certify a patient remain the same.

Do patients link our certifications to finish their applications?

Yes, patients still need to link the certification to finish their application. Remind your patients of this requirement.

Are health care providers able to see the patients they certified on the previous online system?

Yes, prior patient data will be available for health care providers to view online.

Can health care providers request a certification waiver in the previous online system?

Yes, a waiver request can be completed for certifications completed by the same health care provider in the previous system.
