Illinois Vaccination Coverage Dashboards

The purpose of the Illinois Immunization Coverage Dashboards is to provide accurate and timely immunization coverage data across the life course to the public and to public health stakeholders.

Illinois Vaccination Coverage Dashboards

School Vaccination Coverage

All schools in Illinois, including public, private, and charter schools, send data on their vaccination rates to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

The School Vaccination Coverage Dashboard, created by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH),  provides a visual and interactive interface of health-related immunization data and school program information from 2014 onwards. All data has been retrieved from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) public use data files (Immunization School Survey Results and Directory of Education Entities) and is released October-November every year. Note: Immunization data contained within the Illinois School Vaccination Coverage dashboard is publicly available and in compliance with ISBE and IDPH data privacy and security policies; additional cleaning and analysis has been performed on the public data provided.

Local health departments, schools, and parents alike, can use this tool to investigate vaccination coverage and protection by school geography or type and community vulnerability.

Influenza Vaccination Coverage

Includes seasonal influenza vaccinations that are reported to the Illinois Comprehensive Automated Immunization Registry Exchange (I-CARE). I-CARE is a voluntary immunization registry, except for programs that provide publicly funded vaccines (e.g., vaccines for children (VFC) program, etc.). Data is updated weekly and includes vaccination coverage and trends, by flu season, county, age-group, gender, and race/ethnicity.
