Strengthening Illinois's Public Health Administration Grant Information

Illinois’ “Strengthening Illinois's Public Health Administration” (SIPA) grant program for Local Health Departments (LHDs) was funded as part of the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Center for Disease Control (CDC) Public Heath Infrastructure Grant (PHIG). Funding is being allocated to Illinois certified LHDs through Local Health Department Workforce Development Support Grants. As a result, 96 agencies will receive $350,000 each (about$70,000 a year for five years). Grant funds may be utilized for various workforce development initiatives, including hiring, retention, training, retraining, and other efforts to strengthen the public health workforce.
