IDPH releases radio public service announcements for Heart Health Month in February

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has issued a series of public service announcements for Illinois radio stations to mark Heart Health Month in February.

The radio announcements feature IDPH director Dr. Sameer Vohra discussing the risks of cardiovascular disease and ways to reduce those risks. There are two 30-second versions and a 15-second version. In addition, a separate version of the 15-second announcement includes an additional 15 seconds of music bed, where local stations can add their own tagline, which could include promoting services through their local health department.

The audio cuts can be found at: https://cms.illinois.gov/agency/media/radio/psa.html.

February 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the first declaration of Heart Health Month by President Lyndon Johnson in 1964. Each year, February is devoted to spreading the word about heart health and encouraging people to get regular checkups and make positive lifestyle changes to prevent heart disease.
