If you are not immune to measles and have been exposed at any of these locations, you need to urgently call your health care provider to receive PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) to measles. If you can get a measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine within 72 hours of exposure, you can avoid developing measles. If you are not eligible to get the MMR vaccine, i.e., children under 6 months of age or pregnant or severely immunocompromised people, then you can get another form of PEP called immunoglobin within 6 days of exposure to prevent measles.

If an exposed individual develops symptoms, they should notify their health care provider or a health care facility before going to a medical office or emergency department for evaluation to ensure that special arrangements can be made to prevent other patients and medical staff from possible exposure. Exposed individuals that are unvaccinated against measles should talk with their doctor about getting the MMR vaccine. It is not harmful to get the MMR vaccine after being exposed to measles and doing so may prevent severe measles if given early enough after exposure.

The exposure locations are ones we are aware of at this time. As we become aware of additional locations we will post them here.
