Precious Drugs & Scary Bugs

Led by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Precious Drugs & Scary Bugs is a statewide campaign that aims to promote the appropriate use of antibiotics in the outpatient setting. A particular focus is on management of upper respiratory tract infections(URIs), which account for three quarters of antibiotic prescribing by office based physicians.*

The Precious Drugs & Scary Bugs campaign is funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Get Smart program.
